# Fieldwerk Help Centre > Guides to memos, collections, sharing, AI connectors and the Mac app. The home page as Markdown: https://help.fieldwerk.ai/index.md ## Getting started - [What Fieldwerk is](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/lnonp2z4uq/what-fieldwerk-is.md): Fieldwerk is where you and your AI keep things, build knowledge and do work. Memos hold it, collections group them, a workspace holds it all. - [Get started with Fieldwerk](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/qnqypg3zni/get-started-with-fieldwerk.md): Sign up free, connect your AI, then let it save, recall, file and share your first memo. Seven steps, each linked to a full guide. - [How Fieldwerk is organised](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/duysi66dh8/how-fieldwerk-is-organised.md): Memos are documents. Collections group memos and set who sees them. Notebooks group memos inside a collection. A workspace holds it all for a team. - [Start in a workspace you've been invited to](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/6u4d21bj52/start-in-a-workspace-youve-been.md): Click Accept invitation in your email, sign in with that address and click Join. Read your collections' standing instructions, then connect your AI. - [Support](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/8agbx1sqoa/support.md): Email support@fieldwerk.ai, or ask your AI to check this help centre. Where to go for billing, privacy requests, security reports, Terms and Pricing. ## Memos - [Create and edit a memo](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/bviloypu9k/create-and-edit-a-memo.md): Click New memo in the sidebar, type a heading for the title, and start writing. Fieldwerk saves as you type, and several people can edit at once. - [Format a memo with headings, tables, images and more](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/g0wr3sp5y1/format-a-memo-with-headings-tables.md): Type / to add headings, lists, tasks, tables, code and images, or type Markdown and it converts. Select text for bold, links and comments. - [Comment on a memo and mention people](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/q4t0a4vevw/comment-on-a-memo-and-mention.md): Select text and click Comment to start a thread on that passage. Type @ to mention someone, assign the thread to them, and resolve it when it's done. - [See and restore earlier versions of a memo](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/pncsjucznc/see-and-restore-earlier-versions.md): Every change to a memo is kept. Open View history from the memo's menu, pick a version and click Restore. Restoring is saved too, so you can undo it. - [Lock, archive or delete a memo](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/0uxsg79ylw/lock-archive-or-delete-a-memo.md): Lock a memo to stop edits and comments. Archive it to make it read-only and hidden from lists. Move it to trash to delete it, with time to restore. - [Find memos with search](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/zbw8gf0qqj/find-memos-with-search.md): Press Cmd+K (Ctrl+K on Windows) to find memos, collections and files or run a command. The box on My memos searches your memos' full text. - [Present a memo as slides](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/a0nbtkb8z5/present-a-memo-as-slides.md): Choose Start presentation from the memo's menu. Each divider starts a new slide, the arrow keys move between them, and Esc finishes. ## Collections and notebooks - [Organise memos into collections](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/saoun9xu7f/organise-memos-into-collections.md): A collection groups a project's memos for your team and your AI. Create one from the sidebar or All collections, then use + Add to collection. - [Group memos inside a collection with notebooks](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/0ze3d1lmmz/group-memos-inside-a-collection.md): A notebook splits a collection into smaller sets, like one per client, without re-sharing. It has its own views and instructions. Use New notebook. - [Track work with properties](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/hp1532ap47/track-work-with-properties.md): Properties like status, owner and due date let you run memos on a board or calendar. Add them in View settings, Edit properties. Your AI sets them too. - [See a collection as a list, board, table, calendar or timeline](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/riqjfipirh/see-a-collection-as-a-list.md): Views are saved tabs showing memos as a list, board, table, calendar, timeline or canvas. Add view, then filter, sort, group and Save for everyone. - [Give a collection standing instructions](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/wn60xwy68v/give-a-collection-standing-instructions.md): Standing instructions are a collection's brief: what belongs, naming, which properties to set. Your AI follows them. Add them in the Instructions tab. - [Keep the collections you use close at hand](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/pen05he959/keep-the-collections-you-use-close.md): Star collections as favourites, add active ones to Focus, and group the sidebar by collection tags. Pin key memos to the top of a collection. - [Sync a collection with a GitHub repo](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/pxb7sp8ilx/sync-a-collection-with-a-github.md): Keep a collection in a GitHub repo as Markdown, in step both ways. An admin connects GitHub in Workspace settings, then pick a repo in the collection. ## Working as a team - [Set up Fieldwerk for your team](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/u7blg2dr3e/set-up-fieldwerk-for-your-team.md): Set up a team in this order. One Pro workspace, invite people, share collections at the right level, write instructions, then connect each person's AI. - [Run a project together in a collection](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/ghlrze8efc/run-a-project-together.md): Give each project a collection, with notebooks for kinds of memo, a board by status, owners and due dates, and your team's AIs keeping it current. - [How everyone's AI works in the same workspace](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/q0s6hytaw8/how-everyones-ai-works.md): Each person connects their own AI. It works as them, its edits carry their name, and standing instructions give every AI in the workspace the same brief. - [Review and sign off work as a team](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/d6gperrn37/review-and-sign-off-work.md): Comment on the passage, assign the thread to whoever must act, resolve it when done, then lock the finished memo. History keeps who changed what. ## Files, versions and artifacts - [Add files and links](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/7em790nrmb/add-files-and-links.md): Attach files and links to a memo, collection or notebook. Files up to 25 MB (video 50 MB Free, 500 MB Pro); storage 50 MB Free, 2 GB Pro. - [Upload a new version of a file](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/df7d4mund9/upload-a-new-version.md): A new version of a file keeps the same link, so every memo, view and artifact using it shows the new one. Older versions stay in its history. - [Build an artifact that shows your data](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/b2us0x6yyp/build-an-artifact-that-shows.md): An artifact is an HTML page, like a dashboard, that reads CSV, TSV and JSON files in its notebook or memo once allowed. Together a new chat can start from far more of what you know. ## Tips - [Set up your workspace so AI assistants understand it](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/b9gmo5h48t/set-up-your-workspace-so-ai.md): Give your workspace, collections and key memos short descriptions and instructions, and tell your repos when to use Fieldwerk, so your AI files well. - [Make a hub memo that links a project together](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/6r0518sdim/make-a-hub-memo-that-links.md): Have your AI write one hub memo linking a project's memos, with a line on why each matters. It gives people and their AI one way in. - [Start messy and let your AI restructure later](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/ouiy1vj19q/start-messy-and-let-your-ai.md): Save things as they come, then ask your AI to propose collections, notebooks and properties once a pattern shows. You approve, and can redo it anytime. - [Keep a guide current by having your AI update it after you correct its work](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/ct5l8hgsqf/keep-a-guide-current-by-having.md): When you fix your AI's work, ask it to compare your edits with its draft and update the guide or instructions it used, so the fix carries forward. - [Get better results by bringing better context in](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/6ttrzji8x0/get-better-results-by-bringing-better.md): Start a chat with the memos, collections and instructions that matter, and save what's worth keeping at the end. Better context in, better work out. - [Build context your team owns, not one person's chat history](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/vqja3dbtg2/build-context-your-team-owns-not.md): Save the team's useful AI work into shared collections and write down how things are done as standing instructions, so everyone's AI works from it. - [Write an organising brief as a memo](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/enndk9gljh/write-an-organising-brief.md): Before a big tidy-up, write how you want things organised in a memo and ask your AI to follow it. You get the structure you meant, and can reuse it. - [Run a structured team trial](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/ibirh140ut/run-a-structured-team-trial.md): Bringing Fieldwerk to your team? Start with one real piece of work, share something useful from it, and give people small things to try with their AI. ## Desktop app - [Install the Fieldwerk Mac app](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/siac5eoxz0/install-the-fieldwerk-mac-app.md): The Mac app gives Fieldwerk its own window with tabs, a menu bar icon, quick notes and two-way folder sync. Apple silicon only; updates itself. - [Sync a collection to a folder on your Mac](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/8xgcrllyuo/sync-a-collection-to-a-folder.md): The Mac app keeps a collection in step both ways with a folder of Markdown files, so any editor or coding agent can write memos. You decide conflicts. ## Security and privacy - [Sign in and keep your account secure](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/nq5d4zu1kl/sign-in-and-keep-your-account.md): No password. Sign in with an email code, Google, Microsoft or a passkey. Turn on two-factor under Profile, Security; Pro can require it of everyone. - [How Fieldwerk protects your content](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/nhjykbcozw/how-fieldwerk-protects-your-content.md): Only the people, links and AI tools you allow can open your content. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and artifacts run in a sandbox. - [Delete your account or workspace](https://help.fieldwerk.ai/lywput0uea/delete-your-account-or-workspace.md): Delete your account in Personal settings, Account, once you've left every workspace. Owners delete a workspace in Workspace settings, Manage.
