Bring a memo or collection into any chat
Paste a memo's or collection's link into a chat, or ask your AI to find it by name, and it picks up from there. There's no copying and pasting text, and no explaining it all again. With your AI connected to Fieldwerk, it reads what you can read, including a collection's standing instructions. Without a connection, an AI can still read a memo whose link is open to anyone.
Bring in a memo
Open the memo and copy its link from the address bar, or click Share and copy the link there.
Paste it into a new chat with your request.
In Fieldwerk, ask me for a memo's link, then read it and tell me in a few lines what it covers. Ask me what to do next, and check with me before you change anything in it.You can also skip the link and ask your AI to search: "In Fieldwerk, find the memo about the launch plan and read it." See Find memos with search.
Bring in a whole collection
A collection link brings in more than its memos. Your AI reads the collection's standing instructions too, so it knows what belongs there and how the collection is used before it does anything. See Give a collection standing instructions.
In Fieldwerk, ask me for a collection's link, then read it and its standing instructions and tell me how it's organised and what it's for. Work from it for the rest of this chat, and check with me before you add or change anything in it.This needs your AI connected to Fieldwerk. See Connect Claude to Fieldwerk, Connect ChatGPT to Fieldwerk or Connect other AI tools to Fieldwerk.
What an AI can read without signing in
If your AI isn't connected, or you send a link to someone whose AI isn't, it depends on how the memo is shared:
A memo whose link is on. An AI that can open web pages can read it, the same way anyone with the link can. See Share a memo with a link or with people.
A memo with a password, with its link turned off, or restricted to named people. An AI can't read it without signing in. Connect your AI and it reads with your access.
A published collection. An AI can read its public page: the memos it shows and its description. Standing instructions aren't shown to visitors, so they only reach an AI that's connected. See Publish a collection as a read-only page.
A collection that isn't published. Only a connected AI with access can read it.
Keep what comes out of the chat
When the chat produces something worth keeping, ask your AI to save it back, as a new memo or into the memo you started from. Every change is kept in the memo's history, so you can see what changed and undo it. See See and restore earlier versions of a memo.
For why this works well alongside your AI's own memory, see How Fieldwerk and your AI's memory work together.
