Working as a team

Review and sign off work as a team

Review a memo where it lives. Reviewers comment on the exact passage they mean, mention the person who needs to answer and assign the thread to them, and resolve it once it's dealt with. When everyone has signed off, lock the memo so nobody, and no one's AI, can change it. Version history keeps the record of who changed what along the way, person or AI.

Run a review round

  1. Give reviewers the right access. Comment lets someone read and comment without editing. Share the memo or its collection at that level. See Share a memo with a link or with people and Share a collection with your team.

  2. Ask for the review. Mention each reviewer in a comment on the passage you want them to look at. If the project tracks status, set the memo to In review so the board shows it's waiting.

  3. Reviewers comment on passages. They select the words they mean and click Comment, and assign the thread to whoever needs to act on it. See Comment on a memo and mention people.

  4. Work through the threads. Make the change, reply saying what you did, and click Resolve. Resolved threads are hidden but kept, so the discussion stays part of the record.

  5. Check what changed. Open View history from the memo's menu to see each change and who made it, including changes made by someone's AI. See See and restore earlier versions of a memo.

  6. Sign it off. Once no threads are open, the memo's owner chooses Lock memo from its menu. Nobody can edit, change properties or comment on it until it's unlocked. See Lock, archive or delete a memo.

Keep track of what's waiting on you

The bell in the sidebar (Notifications) shows when you're mentioned, assigned a thread or replied to. People in a thread also get an email about new comments. Your AI can list everything waiting on you too, using the prompt below.

Habits that keep reviews moving

  • Assign only when someone must act. Leave a thread unassigned when it's only a note, so everyone's assigned list stays meaningful.

  • Resolve, don't delete. A resolved thread is kept and can be reopened, so the reason for a change isn't lost.

  • Finish the discussion before you lock. A locked memo takes no new comments, so resolve or move open questions first.

  • Archive when the work is done with. Archived memos are read-only and drop out of the default lists, so the project stays current. See Lock, archive or delete a memo.

Have your AI do it

Ask for a review:

Try this with your AI assistant
In Fieldwerk, suggest which passages of one of my memos most need a second opinion, with a question for each. Once I've chosen the questions and who should answer them, post them as comments and assign each thread. Ask me which memo.

See what's waiting on you:

Try this with your AI assistant
In Fieldwerk, what's waiting on me? List the open comment threads where I'm mentioned or assigned, oldest first, with a line on what each one asks.

Check a memo is ready to sign off:

Try this with your AI assistant
In Fieldwerk, is one of my memos ready to sign off? Tell me about any open comment threads and what changed in the last week, and if nothing's open, lock it once I confirm. Ask me which memo.
